New Riviera Village Shuttle Service Starts Next Week

The much anticipated Terranea Resort/Riviera Village shuttle service will begin running next week!

Newly elected Redondo Beach City Councilman Jeff Ginsburg announced Tuesday night at the City Council meeting that the shuttle service will commence operation just prior to the Riviera Village Summer Festival set to take place the weekend of June 29.

The free shuttle will run regularly from Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes to Riviera Village in South Redondo Beach.

In addition, a shuttle to and from the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Harbor Drive will begin as well.

The new shuttle stop is located at the intersection of Catalina Avenue and Vista del Mar in front of the Soil Gardening kiosk.

The city recently refurbished the location with new hardscape, landscaping and two mature palm trees. Benches, waste receptacles and signage are forthcoming.

The shuttles will provide Terranea Resort and Crowne Plaza guests the opportunity to shop, dine and take advantage of the many services available in Riviera Village, in addition to providing convenient access to the beach. Other hotels and resorts are expected to participate in the future.

It’s a win-win proposition for locals as they’ll get to use the service free of charge to visit both locations, saving on gas and parking expenses as well as cutting down on traffic congestion during the busy summer months.

South Bay residents have embraced the many amenities Terranea Resort offers, from the spa packages and restaurants to the popular Nelson’s Summer Concert Series. Terranea has become a favorite destination for locals and visitors alike.

To start, the shuttle will run four times a day: morning, afternoon, evening and late night. The schedule will adjust according to demand.

The shuttle costs will be shared between the Riviera Village Business Improvement District and participating hotels and resorts.
