Peninsula Shooting Victim Dies; $20K Reward Offered For Suspect

Police are offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect in a shooting that left one man dead.

PALO ALTO, CA — A man who was injured in a shooting in Palo Alto early Tuesday has died from his injuries, and authorities are offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect, the Palo Alto Police Department said.

Police received a call around 3:02 a.m. Tuesday from a man saying he'd been shot on the 700 block of San Antonio Road. Police arrived and found the victim, a man in his fifties, lying alone in the parking lot of a business with one gunshot wound to the abdomen, police said.

The man was hospitalized and underwent surgery but succumbed to his injuries. The case is being investigated as a homicide.

San Antonio Road was shut down until shortly before noon Tuesday as detectives examined the crime scene. Police are also looking for surveillance video nearby. No motive has been established and no possible suspects have been identified, police said.
