Trapped Peninsula Construction Crew Rescued from 80 Feet in the Air
Two men were stuck for hours inside a lift basket 80 feet in the air.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA – Firefighters in Menlo Park on Friday helped rescue two men stuck inside a lift basket that had stopped 80 feet in the air at a construction site, according to fire officials.
Firefighters with the Menlo Park Fire Protection District responded Friday at 1:15 p.m. to 1315 O'Brien Drive on a report of two men trapped on an elevated platform that had malfunctioned, fire officials said.
Additional firefighters responded with a 100-foot aerial ladder truck designed for high-angle rescues, according to the fire district.

The workers were safely rescued around 2:18 p.m. after spending about two and a half hours stuck in the elevated basket.
