Burton Avenue Recreation Center Landscape Revitalization

Public Works partnered with the SCAYD and SAY volunteer groups to work on a variety of projects, including the exterior landscaping of Burton Avenue Recreation Center.  A group of about 20 volunteers put in approximately 80 hours of labor sprucing up and improving the landscape in front and around the Burton Avenue Recreation Center.  They removed invasive shrubbery and replaced it with environmentally friendly ground cover and plants including planting trees and adding boulders to the décor.  The SCAYD and SAY volunteers have been doing a fantastic job and we would like to thank them for all their hard work.

The work to the exterior has improved the overall look of the neighborhood and increased the appeal for our current and potential facility renters.  The Community Services department continues to show this building on a daily basis to inquiring facility renters in addition to offering a variety of classes and the summer camp at this location.
