The Library is Open! Open! Open!

Library furlough ends on Tuesday, January 3rd

Remember the old Mervyn's commercials where the manic shopper peered through the closed doors of the department store repeating “Open! Open! Open!” as if the constant repetition would magically open the doors so that she could shop to her heart's content? (I was never one of those midnight shoppers but I do miss that store!)

I hope there weren't too many sad faces peering into the library's lobby this past week wishing that the library would “open, open, open”. The shutting down of the to close a budget gap is a tough one for everyone waiting to pick up holds, browse for new books to read or movies to watch, use the internet or just settle into a comfortable chair to read or study

But I am happy to report that opening day is just ahead of us! Regular open hours will resume on Tuesday, January 3rd at 10:00 a.m. Remember that no items were due during the closure so there is plenty of time to turn them all in

Happy New Year to all and a toast to our free Sonoma County Libraries!
