"Reach Rohnert Park" Provides 24/7 Access to Local Government

At , the city announced the launch of Reach Rohnert Park, a new citizen request system. Reach Rohnert Park gives the community immediate access to local government and offers a way to submit requests for common maintenance issues such as overgrown trees, water leaks or graffiti.

The community has started taking advantage of Reach Rohnert Park since its launch on Tuesday night. About 25 percent of the requsts submitted this week were through the new online system. Many of the requests pertained to street lights and street signs; even a couple of questions came in and were addressed by city staff.   

The new website gives the community a variety of ways to contact the city. You can Reach Rohnert Park online at www.rpcity.org or by searching for the mobile app, GoRequest and downloading it to your iPhone or smart phone. 

Creating a request is easy. From your computer go to the city’s website and select Reach Rohnert Park, click the “submit request” button at the bottom of the page, select a topic from the drop down menu and provide a brief description about the problem you are reporting. Your request will automatically be routed to the staff member who can fix it. If you would like to be contacted or receive notifications about the status of your request enter your name and contact information when it’s created.

To submit a request using your iPhone or smart phone simply open the app, select a topic, take a picture and tap submit – the application picks up the exact location and sends the request to the right staff person. The GPS and camera features built into the phones make it simple to alert city officials to a variety of maintenance issues.
