Restoration of the Iconic Rohnert Park "The Friendly City" Sign

The iconic Rohnert Park "The Friendly City" sign will be resotored by the City's 50th Anniversary celebration on September 15, 2012.

The Department of Public Works is in the process of coordinating the restoration of the iconic Rohnert Park "The Friendly City" sign on Commerce Blvd., and plan to have it finished by September 15, 2012 for the City's 50th Anniversary celebration.

Project materials/equipment including rental equipment (boom trucks), electric, panels, siding, painting, and plastic facing have been donated to the City by several generous local vendors.

A group of volunteers will be working with City staff to complete this project.  The project will be completed at little to no cost to the City.  The iconic sign is a City asset that holds historical importance to the community.

We are pleased that this project will be completed for the City’s 50th Anniversary celebration.
