Rohnert Park Librarian's Bad News, Good News
Bad News and Good News for the Library and for busy Moms.

The bad news is...
There is no way to finish everything on my list before the holidays — hand decorate my place inside and out, bake ten different kinds of delicious cookies (and at least try one new one from a Food Network Show), clean the house (especially the parts I haven’t organized for the past year—can’t I just create a pop-up room to put all of this extra stuff in?), host a party for all of my friends (that would mean cleaning, cooking and then finding something festive to wear that fits me), decide on the presents that are perfect for each person, wrap them (usually at the last minute) and by the way, where are those gift cards I bought?

I can find the time to take a deep breath and just appreciate the decorations I have gotten up, the cookie ingredients I have at least bought, the general unclutter of one room (don’t look too closely), the friends that my son invited over who were happy to have pizza and mini cheesecakes bought from Costco, and of course, the best present of all, making time for the people who mean the most to us, whether they live close or faraway, and are available by post, phone or text.

To close a budget gap, all Sonoma County Libraries will be closed from 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 23 until Tuesday, Jan. 3 (opening at 10 a.m.). During that time the bookdrops will be locked and no services will be available, including online. For more information, visit the library’s website at www.sonomalibrary.org.
The good news is...
No items will be due during the closure and those who check out items this week will get extra time before they are due back. So come on down! And if you are looking for last minute stocking stuffers, come to the Friends of the Rohnert Park Library’s Friends of the Library Bookstore.
Happy Holidays Everyone! (Now if I could just find that extra tape I know I bought….)
