The Holidays Are Coming To Town!

Public Works crews were extra busy stringing holiday lights in the Redwood trees along Rohnert Park Expressway on Tuesday, Nov. 8.

Crews from the city's Department of Public Works are hanging holiday lights in Rohnert Park's famous Redwood trees — bringing the first sign of the holiday season to the community!

"About a month of planning goes into the holiday light project each year", says Eugene Fallis, public works maintenance worker and project manager. "It's important to make sure the crews are outfitted with proper safety equipment and have the right training to operate the aerial lift."

Each November hundreds of holiday lights are hung in the redwood trees along the Expressway and the holiday season officially begins with the annual tree lighting ceremony. Throughout the season, the festive lighted path guides travelers along Expressway from State Farm Drive to Commerce Boulevard.
