Water Tank Rehab Project Gets Underway

Investing in Rohnert Park's public infrastructure not only ensures that it functions properly, but it also improves service to residents and businesses and creates a safer community.

Rohnert Park's Public Works Department maintains the water system and delivers water to numerous customers throughout the community. One project, about to begin, is the rehabilitation and cleaning of several water tanks that store the city's water supply — approximately 5 million gallons. Cleaning and inspection of the tanks occurs about every every five years. It is a preventative measure that helps to maintain our high standards for water quality.

Rehabilitating the ladders will create a safer working environment at these sites.  Currently the ladders do not meet mandated safety requirements. Once improved, the ladders will be constructed with proper guard rails and cages that will help to protect city staff and contractors.

Investing in our infrastructure makes Rohnert Park a better place to live, work and do business. This includes our roadways, parks, civic buildings and utility systems. What infrastructure improvements would you like to see made throughout Rohnert Park?
