SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — A four-day streak of increases to the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County totaling 5 cents ended Monday with a decrease of one-tenth of a cent to $5.779.
The streak of increases, which included an increase of fourth-tenths of a cent Sunday, followed a run of 23 decreases in 29 days totaling 28.8 cents, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The rising prices were caused by a substantial increase to Los Angeles wholesale gasoline prices, said Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
