Autistic Man, 29 Now Self-Employed
A local autistic man, aged 29 is now Self-Employed for his own trash pickup company.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, Ca. — On March 16, 2020, an autistic man, Michael Tierney, 29 is now self-employed, picking up litter and trash off the hill.
He once applied for Walmart, but never hired him. He was also interviewed by Target, but never got hired for that either.
Tierney was a volunteering at Pepper Drive School in the Santee School District, before the coronavirus pandemic. Before that, he was a volunteer at the El Cajon Branch of the San Diego County Library.

Tierney is enjoying his new job as a self-employed trash picker.
“Well, I like my new job, making the environment better,” said Tierney. “It’s a great experience.”
