Average Gas Price Drops Slightly In San Diego County

The average price is 5.3 cents less than one week ago and 34.3 cents lower than one month ago, but 89.1 cents more than one year ago.

SAN DIEGO, CA — The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County dropped three-tenths of a cent Tuesday at $5.24, its lowest amount since March 5.

It dropped seven-tenths of a cent Monday and had decreased for 71 of the previous 73 days. It has fallen $1.133 since rising to a record $6.373 on June 15, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.

It is 5.3 cents less than one week ago and 34.3 cents lower than one month ago, but 89.1 cents more than one year ago.

The national average price dropped for the 77th consecutive day since rising to a record, decreasing six-tenths of a cents to $3.844. It has dropped $1.172 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, including three-tenths of a cent on Monday.

The national average price is 4.8 cents less than one week ago and 38.8 cents lower than one month ago, but 69.3 cents more than one year ago.
