San Diego-Based Choir Covers Song To Spread Hope: Coronavirus
Chamber Bravura has released a cover of the inspirational song "Flashlight" with the goal of spreading a message of hope amid the pandemic.
SAN DIEGO, CA — A San Diego-based a cappella choir has released a cover of the inspirational song "Flashlight" in an effort to spread a message of hope amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Chamber Bravura collaborated virtually with members of the collegiate choral programs at NYU Shanghai and NYU Steinhardt to produce the video. The virtual choir performance features more than 60 middle school, high school and college students representing 10 different states, as well as 14 different cities across China.
"The group wanted to spread a message of hope and gratitude with the world to thank our medical professionals, first responders and essential workers worldwide," Chamber Bravura director Katherine Girvin said in a statement.

"Flashlight" was written in 2015 by Sia Furler, Sky Montique, Christian Guzman, Jason Moore and Sam Smith. It was recorded and made popular by British singer Jessie J for the soundtrack of the 2015 movie "Pitch Perfect 2."

Although based in San Diego, Chamber Bravura is an internationally recognized a cappella choir that has toured across the U.S. and around the world, performing in Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Universal Studios Hollywood, Disneyland Resort and Disney's California Adventure Park, among other venues.
