$630 Million Boost To The Bay Area Is Expected To Be Delivered By Super Bowl LX

The upcoming Super Bowl LX, held at Levi's Stadium, is projected to boost the Bay Area economy and create an estimated 5,000 jobs.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — The Bay Area is set for a economic windfall as Super Bowl LX approaches, with the event at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara projecting to generate up to $630 million for the region.

This projection is part of a study by the Bay Area Host Committee detailing the financial impact of several major upcoming sporting events.

The Super Bowl alone is expected to generate around 5,000 jobs and attract an estimated 90,000 visitors from outside the Bay Area this weekend, according to the study.

In a broader context, the Super Bowl is a key part of California’s sports capital, which is expected to see at least $18 billion in economic activity from five large-scale events over the next three years, along with tens of thousands of jobs statewide.

Impact Across Counties

Multiple counties should see an influx in revenue from the Super Bowl, according to a report developed by the global management consulting firm Boston Consulting Group on behalf of BAHC.

The total estimated economic impact for Super Bowl LX is modeled to range from $370 million to $630 million.

San Francisco County is projected to see $250 million to $440 million, and Santa Clara County is projected to see $100 million to $160 million.

Other Bay Area counties are projected to see between $20 million and $30 million.

The report also anticipates that the Super Bowl will bring in $300 million in labor income for Bay Area families and $16 million in fiscal revenues to local governments.

A Platform for Future Events

“By hosting multiple celebrated sporting events, the Bay Area will not only be showcased on the world stage, but they will also help fuel California’s economy,” said U.S. Senator Alex Padilla. “[These events] create jobs, drive tourism, uplift local businesses and unite our diverse communities.”

Governor Gavin Newsom emphasized that the event showcases "the very best of California while delivering lasting benefits for communities across the Golden State," including job creation, driving tourism and strengthening local economies.

Factors driving the positive impact include spending by visitors, organizational spending by teams and staff, and logistics spending to organize events and fan festivals.

“The economic impacts of Super Bowl LX, FIFA World Cup 2026 and NBA All-Star 2025 on our City and community will be tremendous,” said San Francisco Mayor London Breed.

Viewership for Super Bowl LX is projected to approach or exceed last year’s record-breaking audience of 127.7 million viewers, putting the region on the global stage.
