NORTHERN CALIFORNIA — As a new week begins, we've rounded up the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for a great week.
But before we jump into Northern California's top stories, residents should know that a warming trend is expected this week, according to the National Weather Service.
"Despite the chilly start to the day, a warming trend will lead to above normal temperatures by Thursday," NWS Bay Area forecasters wrote Monday. "Once the warm weather arrives, it should be pretty persistent through mid-month."

In other news, a small earthquake shook off the coast of Northern California Sunday morning. The quake was recorded at 7:09 a.m. about 46 miles west-northwest of Petrolia, an unincorporated community in Humboldt County, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
Four people were rescued from an overturned boat over the weekend in the North Bay, authorities said.

The body of a man with gunshot wounds was found hidden under dirt and debris near a BART yard four days after witnesses saw — but didn't report — a shooting, police said.
