Elon Musk Booed On Stage At Dave Chappelle Show In San Francisco
Elon Musk has rapidly moved to gut the company's workforce since purchasing the tech company for $44 billion.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Tesla CEO Elon Musk was met with boos when comedian Dave Chapelle brought him on stage in San Francisco Sunday night.
Chapelle was performing at a Punchline Comedy Club event at the Chase Center when he invited Musk to join him, after which the crowd burst into a chorus of boos as well as loud cheers.
“Ladies and gentlemen, make some noise for the richest man in the world,” Chapelle said in a video shared to Twitter as he introduced Musk, who responded to the backlash by asking Chapelle “You weren’t expecting this, were you?”

James Yu, who was at the show Sunday night, tweeted "A good 80% of the stadium boos. 18k people. and he withers. Like absolutely turns into a corncob."
“What should I say??” Musk said as he stood on stage, according to Yu.

"Dave gave him so many chances to speak but he just put his hands in his pockets," Yu wrote in a separate tweet.
On October 28, Musk bought Twitter for roughly $44 billion, thus beginning a new era of the massive social media platform. He almost immediately began layoffs that will cut roughly half of its 7,500-person workforce, and was met with widespread criticism for his policy changes that opponents feared would cause a rise in misinformation and hate speech.
