Fundraiser Started For Airport Worker Found Dead Under Pallets At SFO
It remains unclear how the worker ended up under the pallets.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A fundraiser has been started for the family of a San Francisco Airport ramp employee who was found dead on the job Sunday night.
The fundraiser, which identified the worker as John Brandon Lacayanga, has raised $2,140 out of its $6,000 goal as of Tuesday.
"With heavy hearts, we are raising funds to help cover the funeral and memorial expenses for John Brandon Lacayanga," the fundraiser organizers said in a statement. "This tragic loss was unexpected, and we hope to ease the financial burden on his parents during this incredibly difficult time."

Lacayanga was apparently towing a cargo pallet somewhere in the vehicle service road between Terminal 3 and the International Terminal Boarding Area G before his death, San Francisco Airport officials said.
It's unclear how he ended up under the cargo pallet. No other vehicles were involved in the incident, San Francisco Airport spokesperson Doug Yakel said.

Lacayanga was employed at SFO through the Dubai National Air Travel Agency (dnata), an Emirati airport services provider, as a ramp worker.
A ramp employee is responsible for processing cargo in the airport facilities.
