SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Google will allow its employees to work remotely until at least July 2021, according to an internal memo sent to employees on Monday and obtained by CNN.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai said in the memo the company is extending its voluntary work from home option through. the end of June 2021 for any positions that are not required to be in the office, according to CNN Business.

"I hope this will offer the flexibility you need to balance work with taking care of yourselves and your loved ones over the next 12 months," Pichai wrote in the memo.

Google is not the only major Bay Area tech company to allow its employees to work remotely. Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey announced in May employees who wish to work remotely permanently could do so.
