'ICE Out Of The Bay' Rally Kicks Off Week Of Super Bowl Events
A coalition of community groups are coming together today at an for an "ICE Out of the Bay" rally in Santa Clara.

SAN JOSE, CA — A coalition of community, union, and immigrant advocacy groups will converge at Cesar Chavez Plaza today for an “ICE Out of the Bay” rally, marking the opening of official Super Bowl week events.
The demonstration, organized by the South Bay Super Bowl Coalition, is protesting the increased Immigration and Customs Enforcement presence in Bay Area neighborhoods.
ICE agents were called to the Bay Area to patrol Levi’s Stadium before the Feb. 8 Super Bowl LX game between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks.

Coming amid pushback in the Bay Area against ICE tactics in Minneapolis and elsewhere, the rally underscores ongoing concerns from local groups about ICE operations in the region.
Speakers at today's rally, including Musa Tariq, policy coordinator with the Bay Area chapter of the Council on American–Islamic Relations, are gathering to show solidarity with immigrant families, workers, and community groups affected by immigration enforcement.
