Stolen Lemur Maki Regains Strength: Photos
Maki was stolen from his enclosure last week, and later found released.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Maki, the 21-year-old male ring-tailed lemur who recently returned to San Francisco Zoo & Gardens after a traumatic abduction that garnered worldwide attention, is again in his habitat at the Lipman Family Lemur Forest. SF Zoo’s animal wellness teams report Maki is getting stronger every day and slowly beginning to re-socialize with his lemur companions.
Maki can be seen basking in the sun and with “Barry”, another ring-tailed lemur, who is named after the habitat’s lead donor, Barry Lipman.
