Convict Found Dead; Sex Offender Checks: Marin County Police Log

MARIN COUNTY, CA – The following is a collection of weekly police, court and fire stories from around Marin County this week.

Emilio Avalos, 40, was convicted of killing two people in Southern California.

A routine patrol resulted in an arrest and the recovery of a stolen bicycle early Thursday in Fairfax.

"It is the department's objective to keep the community safe, especially at a high-risk time for offenders such as Halloween season."

Sausalito police arrested a Los Angeles man who was allegedly driving a stolen vehicle from Huntington Beach.

In the past year, there have been 290 vehicles reported stolen within the city of San Rafael, according to police.
