San Leandro SWAT Team Arrests Attempted Murder Suspect
A child custody dispute precipitated the incident that police said left the alleged victim unconscious.

SAN LEANDRO, CA – A San Leandro parolee was arrested Tuesday on multiple felony counts including attempted murder for an alleged domestic violence incident in San Mateo, police said.
Anthony Gonzalez, 28, was booked into San Mateo County jail.
A San Leandro Police Department SWAT team arrested Gonzalez at his home and transferred custody of the suspect to the San Mateo Police Department.

Police said a witness called San Mateo police to the 3000 block of Shasta Drive to conduct a welfare check on report of possible domestic violence.
Police said the alleged victim had lost consciousness twice after being punched in the face, put in a headlock, and strangled by Gonzalez after a child custody dispute.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
In addition to the attempted murder charges, Gonzalez was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping, domestic violence, assault with a deadly weapon, victim intimidation and a parole violation.
