SMART Continues Free Train Service Through Friday
Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit is offering free train service between Sonoma County Airport and downtown San Rafael through Friday.

NORTH BAY, CA – With wildfires still burning in the North Bay and new brush fires sparking daily across the region, Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit is now providing free passenger service from Santa Rosa to San Rafael through Friday.
SMART is slated to run 34 weekday trips, with southbound service starting at 4:19 a.m. out of the Sonoma County Airport station, and northbound service beginning at 5:59 a.m. out of San Rafael. Service will continue mid-day, through the peak commute, and into the evening with the last southbound train departing the Sonoma County Airport station at 6:49 p.m. and the last northbound train departing San Rafael at 8:35 p.m.
SMART resumed full service Monday and reopened the Santa Rosa North and Sonoma County Airport stations, which were closed due to power outages and extreme fire conditions. SMART has provided free train service between Santa Rosa and San Rafael since the wildfires broke out across the region.

SMART's weekday and weekend schedules are below. Passengers are encouraged to check www.SonomaMarinTrain.org to ensure there are no schedule changes due to changing fire conditions.
"Safety is SMART's top priority and we will continue to monitor fire conditions and will use all necessary safety precautions," SMART officials said on the agency's website.
