1. Sonoma Pride Flag Fight Heads Back Before School Board (patch.com) — Sonoma Valley residents are being urged to pack the Sept. 10 school board meeting as trustees weigh two new flag policies that will determine whether the Pride flag stays up year-round at Sonoma Valley High School. Local advocacy group Wake UP Sonoma argues the flag, along with stronger anti-bullying enforcement and staff training, is vital to making LGBTQIA+ students in Sonoma feel safe and supported on campus.
   

2. Watch: Attempted Carjacking After High Speed Hwy 37 Chase (patch.com) — Law enforcement tracked a vehicle stolen from a Santa Rosa Safeway into Sonoma Valley, where the suspect sped through Highway 101 traffic before exiting near Sears Point, just south of Sonoma. After abandoning the car near Highway 37 and Arnold Drive, the suspect allegedly tried to carjack a passing driver but was quickly taken into custody by Sonoma County deputies.
   

3. Sonoma City Fees Changing Sept. 1 (patch.com) — Sonoma residents and businesses face upcoming changes to city service, permit, and application fees starting Sept. 1, with costs tied to the date applications are submitted. Anyone planning Building, Planning, or other city permits is urged to review the new schedule, submit before the deadline if possible, and note that the online Permit Center will be offline during the switchover.

The Camino de Sonoma Offers a Physical and Spiritual Journey (sonomamag.com) — An 85-mile Camino de Sonoma pilgrimage starts right in Sonoma Plaza, leading walkers in six stages from the mission in town to Fort Ross while exploring local history and personal reflection. Organizers and volunteers guide small groups through Sonoma County communities and coastal trails, blending light Christian spirituality with an open, inclusive approach that welcomes people of any or no faith.
   

5. Sonoma ranch sets local price record with $39M sale (therealdeal.com) — A 1,100-acre ranch on Sonoma Mountain Road has sold for $38.5 million, setting a new price record for Sonoma and highlighting surging demand from wealthy tech buyers. The upgraded property, known as The Summit, far outpaces the city's $1.2 million median home price and signals continued pressure on local Wine Country real estate.
