CHP Announces Upcoming San Francisco DUI Checkpoint
The anti-DUI operation is planned for Friday.
The California Highway Patrol is planning a DUI/driver’s license checkpoing for this weekend, officials announced.
The operation will be held at an undisclosed location in the city of San Francisco on Friday, beginning at 8:30 p.m. It’s scheduled to run until 1 a.m. Saturday.
“This time of year, there are increased social outings and holiday parties,” Captain Chris Sherry, commander of the San Francisco CHP said in a statement. “There is also an increase in intoxicated drivers. In an effort to reduce impaired driving, the CHP employs sobriety checkpoints to raise awareness and remove impaired drivers from the roadway. Please, don’t become a statistic. Always plan ahead and designate a sober driver.”
