After More Than a Decade, Inland Rail Trail Finally Reaches Central Vista (streetsblog.org) — Vista residents can now bike or walk a new 1.1-mile Inland Rail Trail segment from Mar Vista Drive to Civic Center Drive, creating over 12 miles of continuous, traffic-separated path into central Vista. The $27.9 million project adds lighting, landscaping, drainage and a pocket park, while a final two-mile stretch toward North Drive still awaits funding and design decisions.

Vista chamber announces annual 'Heroes' award honorees (thecoastnews.com) — Vista residents can celebrate local heroes at the Nov. 6 Heroes of Vista awards gala, where 16 honorees—from firefighters and educators to business leaders—will be recognized at the Vista Optimist Club. Proceeds support the Vista Education Foundation and Vista Chamber Foundation, which fund scholarships, internships, and programs for Vista students.
