• Sur La Table Plans Contra Costa Return (patch.com) — Walnut Creek shoppers can look forward to Sur La Table returning to Broadway Plaza, with a new store planned for 1205 Broadway Plaza opening in late fall. While exact hours and cooking classes aren't set yet, the announcement marks a comeback four years after the previous Walnut Creek location closed, giving local cooks a closer option than Berkeley or Santa Rosa.
   

• Popular Iron Horse Trail Bridge Will Close for Months Starting Next Week (newsbreak.com) — If you rely on the Iron Horse Trail near Walnut Creek, prepare for a major detour: the Schroder Pedestrian Bridge over Treat Boulevard will close October 5 through at least December 31. Trail users must cross at street level, and a separate downtown Walnut Creek trail segment will also shut October 5–12 for vegetation and wildlife work.
