Here are the top stories today in Boulder:
- Town of Superior issues first building permit after Marshall Fire. The first building permit has been approved by the Town of Superior. Ed and Terri Colson are planning to build a new home on their property, where their original house burnt down, as a result of the Marshall Fire. (CBS4)
- Town of Vail's plan to condemn land planned for affordable housing may run into a valuation problem. A fight is brewing in Vail as to what could be built on land that the town is moving to condemn for preservation. The developer is expected to argue what the highest and best use is for the parcel, and in Vail, that isn't gonna be cheap. (CO Sun)
- Boulder set to restore in-person services. Boulder has done most of its business virtually for the past two years, but beginning on Thursday, the city will restore in-person activities in several departments, with a newly consolidated customer service hub. (CO Daily)
- Gross Reservoir Recreation Area closing for two weeks. Denver Water is working to replace the loss of parking on the south side of the reservoir, in time for boating season. There's a plan to create a shuttle system designed to help those coming from the North Shore parking lot to get to the water's edge. (CBS4)
- Boulder trail runners learning what to do if they see a wildfire. The Trail Sisters group is working on a preparedness plan in case a wildfire breaks out during one of their runs. (9News)

- Boulder County Commissioners getting a new chief of staff. Clay Fong will join the Commissioners' Office as the Chief of Staff on May 12. He will succeed Michelle Krezek, who is retiring on May 25 after almost 20 years of service with Boulder County. Clay has extensive experience in Boulder, most recently as the City of Boulder's Manager of Community Relations and the Office of Human Rights at the City of Boulder. Good luck Clay! (BOCO)
