  1. Politics could derail RTD from saving millions. The Regional Transportation District could save up to $120 million over the next 22 years if the agency refinanced some of its debt. (CPR)
  2. CU distributed more than $44 million in student pandemic relief. The University marked a significant milestone helping students traverse the COVID-19 pandemic by distributing $44 million of federal funds. (CU Today)
  3. New wireless emergency system goes live in Boulder. The upgraded emergency alert system is now up and running. The system will provide the city with the ability to mass-message citizens in a specific geographic zone. (FOX31)
  4. Boulder plans to shift transportation safety efforts to arterial streets. The City of Boulder plans to adjust its crash mitigation to focus on high-traffic arterial streets after getting findings from the recently released Safe Streets Report, which found that the majority (65 percent) of severe crashes in Boulder are happening on those streets.   5. Inflation at nearly 8 percent-highest in 40 years. Those living in the west, including Colorado, face an even higher inflation increase than the rest of the country. (Patch)
