Here are the top stories in Boulder today:
- Officials weigh emergency actions as drought fears increase. It may become necessary to reduce water supplies to users along the Colorado River, as this year's snowmelt is lower than expected. That coupled with hotter-than-normal temperatures, the prolonged drought is shrinking the lake to a point where the hydro-electric dam may have to be turned off. (CPR)
- Homeless camp in Boulder filled with stolen items. Boulder Police recovered a variety of items from a homeless encampment. Items found include video equipment, bicycles, scooters, tools and a pair of new snowshoes. (FOX31)
- Boulder County's prescribed burn at Ron Stewart Preserve set for Friday. Smoke and flames may be visible several days after the burn, which will take place east of Lyons near Rabbit Mountain over the weekend. Updates about the managed burn will be posted on Boulder County Parks & Open Space website. (Patch)
- Colorado's new gas relief fee might be delayed. The new gas fee, which is slated to begin on July 1, was part of a 2020 transportation funding bill. That measure was designed to raise billions of dollars for transportation projects – those increases may be delayed as part of a proposed consumer relief package moving toward passage in the final days of the state legislative session. (CO Sun)
- Brrrr was it cold Wednesday morning or what? Denver set a new record low on Wednesday morning when the mercury dipped to a frosty 10 degrees. (9News)
