Police are searching the area near Powers and Palmer Park and urging people to stay inside, lock doors, and avoid windows while they look for a suspect.

'Gas is insane': Colorado shatters previous Labor Day weekend record for gas prices (kktv.com) — Colorado Springs drivers are paying some of the highest Labor Day gas prices in more than a decade, with Colorado's statewide average hitting $4.19 per gallon, above the national average. Locals and visitors alike say the spike is forcing them to rethink daily commutes and future trips as overall travel costs continue to climb.
