'Boob Grabber' Baumgardner Created Offensive Workplace: Report

A second report finds credible allegations of sexual harassment and revealed a Senate nickname for Colorado Sen. Randy Baumgardner.

DENVER, CO -- They called him the "boob grabber" behind his back. A new report investigating eight complaints against State Sen. Randy Baumgardner (R-Hot Sulphur Springs) said allegations of sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior were credible. A second independent firm, Littleton-based Alternative Dispute Resolution investigated complaints brought by general assembly staffers, KUNC reported Monday.

Baumgardener created “an intimidating, offensive, and hostile work environment” in 2016 and “substantially interfered” with one woman’s work performance, the new report said.

A former GOP colleague of Baumgardner's reportedly told ADR investigators the nickname was "common knowledge" and “reflect[ed] how his hands brush against a woman's breasts after a hug or when he puts his arms around her shoulders and under her breast.”

Earlier, Baumgardner's female accusers's complaints were found "credible" by Employers Council, a different independent investigation human resources firm.

Baumgardner survived a Senate vote for his expulsion in early April. He stepped down from the transportation committee he chaired in March and agreed to undergo sensitivity training after a legislative aide filed a complaint that he slapped her buttocks. Former intern Megan Creeden, then 25, said Baumgardner pressured her to drink alone in his office and made lewd comments in 2016.
