• Sarah Platt Decker Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution wins state awards (pagosasun.com) — A Durango member of the Sarah Platt Decker Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Leslie Orr, earned first place for community events-American Indian, adding to several state-level honors for the chapter. Representing Archuleta and La Plata counties, the nonpolitical group promotes literacy, conservation, and historic preservation, and welcomes eligible women interested in service and heritage. 
• Division Chief of Emergency Services (dailydispatch.com) — A senior Division Chief of Emergency Services position is open with in-person interviews scheduled in Durango the week of October 12, 2026, after virtual screenings. The role oversees fire, EMS, rescue, hazmat, and special operations, requiring extensive command experience, Colorado certifications, and strong leadership in policy, training, and interagency coordination.
