• Board talks staffing, campaign progress (sanmiguelbasinforum.com) — Basin Clinic leaders meeting at Nucla's Hopkins Field say they're still struggling to recruit a full-time medical provider, despite offering up to $150,000 and juggling temporary staff. Board members are also ramping up their campaign for a proposed hospital district and critical access hospital, which could bring more funding and stability to health care for Nucla and West End residents. 
• West End trail system nears construction approval (sanmiguelbasinforum.com) — A new West End single-track trail system near Naturita and Sawtooth is close to federal approval, promising fresh biking options for Nucla-area riders and visitors. Longtime Nucla resident and trail builder Paul Koski and the West End Trail Alliance hope to start construction in spring 2027, pending funding, with volunteers already building a connector that will eventually link into the network.
