CT Weather: Severe Storms Possible On Thursday

Connecticut could see severe weather including thunderstorms on Thursday. Here are the new updates, timeline.

CONNECTICUT — The weather has been so nice this week and that may change on Thursday as there is a chance for severe storms to impact the state.

WFSB 3 TV meteorologists said storms on Thursday "could pack a punch." The Storm Prediction Center has placed most of Connecticut in a “marginal” risk area for severe weather, according to WFSB 3 TV. The good news is that the rain and potentially stormy weather ends late Thursday and Friday looks very nice.

The National Weather Service said for southern Connecticut we can expect a warm and humid night and rain showers will develop overnight and on Thursday.

"Thunderstorm chances grow Thursday as the front gets closer to western sections of the region and as instability increases. Showers will become likely across much of the region Thursday," the weather service said.

The weekend looks dry and Saturday is expected to feature the most sun in southern Connecticut.
