Flooding Causes Havoc Throughout Connecticut
Here are some crazy images from today's flooding, which includes students getting off a school bus and into a boat.
Rain all day with periods of torrential downpours caused flooding across the state Tuesday afternoon into the evening. Sights of impassible flooded roads are popping up in many towns.
Interstate 95 was flooded in Norwalk early in the evening and two lanes were closed. A few vehicles appeared to be stuck in several feet of water on the northbound side.

A tractor-trailer went down an embankment on I-95 southbound during the afternoon in Stratford but the delays stretched back into Orange. The direction of the highway was closed and eventually one lane reopened. Traffic was backed up several miles and was at a near standstill early Tuesday evening during rush hour.
Students in Stamford had to get off the bus and onto a boat. In Vernon, a transformer caught fire at the intersection of Route 30 and Tunnel Road, which knocked out power to thousands of residents. A brush fire broke out in the area shortly after the transformer incident.
