Actor William Shatner Led us to the latest Hidden Gem — the Rein's reuben.

VERNON, CT — Famed Actor William Shatner is to blame for this week's Hidden Gem. He's the one who stopped at Rein's Deli in Vernon for a reuben sandwich.

Ah, Rein's ... tucked into the Shops at 30 plaza on state Route 30 in Vernon, it's one of the most celebrated restaurant in north central Connecticut has had its fair share of mentions.

But tucked onto one side of the menu are the reigns — all nine of them. They feature pastrami, corned beef, Turkey or even veggies.

So is the rest of the menu chopped liver?

Well there IS chopped liver and it's quite good, but there is also a variety of traditional Jewish deli dishes along with some other famous New York style offerings.
