CONNECTICUT — This scene is being played out all over town and cities in Connecticut.

Schools are getting back into session in Connecticut, and practice for fall sports has begun. Consequently, over the next month or so, a proliferation of teenagers will be spotted at roadsides throughout the state, raising funds for their athletic program, youth team, booster club or academic organization.

Between a seemingly endless supply of bake sales, purse bingo nights and holiday bazaars are a tried-and-true staple: the car wash. No matter what town you're in, you're likely to see kids with signs on corners, waiting for the chance to douse your vehicle with suds.
