CT-Based Pepperidge Farm, Trader Joe's Settle Cookie Lawsuit

NORWALK, CT - Bread and dessert company Pepperidge Farm, which sued Trader Joe's in December, has settled its lawsuit with the food market chain over an alleged copycat Milano cookie.

Norwalk-based Pepperidge Farm sued because it believed Trader Joe's Crispy Cookies, which were oval-shaped and had chocolate filling, too closely mimicked the Milano, one of Pepperidge Farm's most-popular cookies. The company sought undisclosed damages and the prevention of future sales of Crispy Cookies.

Neither company is commenting on the settlement, reports The Hour, but Pepperidge Farm's New York attorney, Ira Levy, told the publication in a statement that the two reached a "mutually satisfactory resolution."
