FAIRFIELD, CT - After decades in a maximum security psychiatric hospital for the killing of his former boss, Bryan Giordano, of Meriden, is a free man.

Giordano, formerly of Bridgeport, stabbed 56-year-old Hector Fraser 37 times one afternoon in June 1985 at Fraser's Fairfield flooring company, and his attorney's convinced the court that Giordano, a diagnosed schizophrenic, was insane when it happened.

The Stamford Advocate's John Nickerson reports that Giordano, now 62 years old, was recently released by Superior Court Judge Richard Comerford, who said Giordano is no longer a danger. Comerford based his decision on information provided by psychiatrists who testified in favor of Giordano's release.

Giordano already had been released from the psychiatric hospital several year ago, but was under supervision when he lived in an apartment in Meriden.
