Woodbridge Police: Boy, 16, Opened Mail from Neighborhood Mailboxes
Police said the boy was found with a "large amount" of open mail discarded on the ground.

A 16-year-old boy looked through mailboxes in the area of Litchfield Turnpike and Lucy St. on Dec. 1, then opened them on the front porch of a Litchfield Turnpike home, Woodbridge police said.
Woodbridge police gave this account (a series of accusations not proven in court) of the matter:
At about 11 p.m., police received a report of a suspicious person looking through mailboxes and found the boy on the porch. They also found a large amount of opened mail discarded on the ground.

Police charged the boy, who lives on Whalley Avenue in New Haven, with sixth-degree larceny, trespassing and third-degree criminal mischief.
The boy was taken into custody. Woodbridge police found that Naugatuck police had a warrant for his arrest on robbery, larceny and related charges. The boy was scheduled to appear Dec. 12 in state Juvenile Court in New Haven.
