2 Rescued After Canoe Capsizes In Bridgeport Waters: Police
The rescue occurred Sunday morning near the Pleasure Beach Bridge, according to authorities.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Two men were rescued from the waters off the Bridgeport shore Sunday morning after their canoe capsized while they were fishing, according to Bridgeport police.
The incident occurred at about 10:45 a.m. when authorities received an emergency call about two men in the water near the Pleasure Beach Bridge.
"The Bridgeport Police and Fire Marine Units were dispatched and upon arrival reported two male parties holding onto the pilings of the old Pleasure Beach Bridge," police said. "Those assisted reported their canoe was overturned by the wake of a passing power vessel while they were fishing."

Both men were pulled from the water and taken back to the dock; they both suffered superficial injuries, but did not require medical treatment.
