Traffic Won't Be An Issue For 'The Renaissance' 3-Story Apartment Buildings: Report

The Renaissance will be built at 777 and 763 Federal Road as two 3-story apartment buildings with first floor retail space.

BROOKFIELD, CT — Major Jay Purcell of the Brookfield Police Department said in a letter that he has no concerns regarding potential traffic issues from the proposed residential/retail development at the Four Corners, The News Times reported.

The Renaissance is planned to be built as two 3-story apartment buildings with first floor retail space. The original proposal was to be a 6-story building, however developers revised their plans in March according to the report.

The property at 777 Federal Road is listed as “Candlebrook Village” on Loopnet and is located in the plaza of Kid’s Castle Day Care Center. The second property, 763 Federal Road, is an unoccupied property.

The proposed 156-unit apartment complex was proposed under the state’s 8-30g housing law that allows a developer to go around local zoning restrictions as long as the project includes affordable housing units.

Brookfield's Zoning Commission will begin deliberations at their next meeting on Thursday, April 28 at 7 p.m.
