Serafina Says Shhh... What is Your Body Whispering?

"If you listen when your body whispers, you will never have to hear it scream." - Unknown I like this quote because it reminds me that my body knows what it needs, and it will tell me. I just have to take the time to listen, and to trust it. While the above quote may be new to you, we have all heard the saying: "You are what you eat." This adage applies to the chemical reactions that happen inside our body and are reflected in our outward appearance. If we feel tired, we most probably look tired. If we feel sluggish, fuzzy-minded, or heavy, chances are this is reflected in our posture, movements, skin, hair and, yes, even our face. We all want to be happy, energetic, peaceful, and to look young, vibrant, and healthy. But this can be a tall order and can be frustrating to fill. We are bombarded daily with products, advertisements, and advice that prey on this desire. It can be tough to know which to listen to, what to use, and who to believe. On top of it all, prioritizing our own wellness makes us feel slightly guilty, as though it is self-centered for us to spend precious minutes thinking only about our own well-being when there is so much to do... Believe it or not, the answer is simple: each of us has the solution to our quest for increased joy, vitality, and wellness. Our bodies know what we need, we just need to be able to hear them. One way of getting more in touch with our bodies is to experiment with different foods, activities, and approaches to life. This summer the Serafina Says Farm Farm To Table Wellness Workshops will bring us on a journey through the plant-based world. Together we will learn about and experience the life-changing benefits that plants provide. In each class, each of us will have a rare opportunity to get more in touch with our own body's needs and what we need for more energy, vitality and increased well-being. All this, and for only one evening a month. One evening a month to potentially transform your own health, which will improve the well-being of your family, friends, co-workers, and - dare I say - could even transform the entire nation. You will learn and experience the nutritional value and healing approach of eating locally and seasonally.
