The Cherry Brook Garden Club and the Canton DPW work together!

The Cherry Brook Garden Club and the Canton Department of Public Works recently installed and planted six self-watering barrels along the Canton Rails to Trails path. It is the hope that these six barrels will provide a pop of color for you as you walk the rails to trails’ path.

Three years ago, the Cherry Brook Garden Club purchased two self-watering barrels to be place along the rails to trails path. The Cherry Brook Garden Club had interest in adding more barrels along the rails to trails’ path and thanks to Dave Kubas and Dee Chauvin efforts four more barrels were added. The Canton Department of Public Works was so helpful in storing the barrels over the winter and then this spring helping the Garden Club place the barrels along the trail. They also helped by adding the water to the barrels. The Canton DPW equipment and effort made the entire process much easier to accomplish this year for the garden club. The Cherry Brook Garden Club will monitor and care for the barrels for the entire season.

We hope you enjoy them as you walk by!
