Danbury Nanny Accused of Burning, Beating Toddlers Offered Plea Deal: Report

The 32-year-old was seen on video burning, beating and ripping out the hair of three toddlers she was hired to care for.

DANBURY, CT — A nanny arrested after being caught on a nanny cam burning and beating a 3-year-old child and her 1-year-old twin siblings has been offered a plea deal, according to Fox 61 News.

Lidia Quilligana, 32, of Danbury, was given six weeks to decide to accept or reject the plea deal, according to the report

Patch reported last April that she has pleaded not guilty to more than 20 counts of risk of injury to a minor and one count of first-degree assault. According to police, when the children's mother arrived home and noticed the injuries to her child, Quilligana said the child accidentally touched the stove while she was tending to other children.

The mother reviewed the video from the hidden nanny camera and observed that the injuries were intentionally inflicted upon her daughter by Quilligana, police said.

Quilligana faces a 20-year prison sentence and is being held on a $1 million bail.
