Suspect Captured After Trying To Flee From Fairfield Police (patch.com) — Fairfield police say a driver linked to a reported larceny refused to stop near Black Rock Turnpike and Congress Street, sped through town, and was later found in a disabled vehicle on an I-95 ramp in Bridgeport. Officers used a tire-deflation device in Fairfield, then took the suspect into custody and issued a misdemeanor summons ahead of a Bridgeport court appearance.
   

3. Fairfield TPZ To Review Plans For Affordable Housing, Traffic And Parking Rules (patch.com) — Fairfield's Town Plan and Zoning Commission meets Tuesday to weigh new affordable housing proposals and major rule changes on traffic, parking, construction safety, and accessory apartments. Residents can attend in person or via Zoom as the commission considers leasing and acquiring properties for below-market units, revising driveway and excavation rules, and expanding where accessory apartments are allowed.
   

4. Leagues of Women Voters Partner to Host Candidate Debate for CT's 4th US Congressional District (greenwichfreepress.com) — Lower Fairfield County Leagues of Women Voters, including Fairfield's chapter, are co-hosting an October 19 debate in Westport for candidates in Connecticut's 4th Congressional District. Fairfield residents can attend for free, watch the livestream, and even submit questions in advance, with additional state-level debates planned in Greenwich later that week.
   

5. A look at CT's top high school football performances for Week 4 (ctinsider.com) — Fairfield football fans can see several hometown standouts highlighted in this week's list of top Connecticut high school performances, including big games from players at Fairfield Prep, Warde, and Ludlowe.
