Date Set For 2026 Fairfield Harvest Market (patch.com) — Fairfield residents can mark their calendars for the 2026 Fairfield Harvest Market on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Old Town Hall Green. The free event will feature dozens of business and artisan vendors, food trucks, music, a Halloween costume dog parade, and giant pumpkin weight-guessing contests, with vendor spots still open for local businesses and pet-related services.

Officials offer safety tips after two people attacked by coyote in Fairfield (ctpost.com) — Two recent coyote attacks in Fairfield, including one bite, have prompted local police and state wildlife experts to urge residents to be extra cautious outdoors. They recommend leashing pets, never feeding coyotes, and using loud noises or thrown objects to scare them away without running. Authorities also ask residents to report any aggressive or possibly rabid animals immediately.
   

5. Fairfield homeowner blames town after Rooster River flooding (sheltonherald.com) — Severe weekend flooding along Fairfield's Rooster River left resident George Paci with about seven feet of water in his basement and renewed frustration over years of delayed mitigation work. Town officials say multiple detention basin and dredging projects totaling $8.2 million are finally moving forward and could cut flooding by 30 percent or more, while also pledging better emergency alerts for Fairfield residents.
