50 Cent Summoned to Connecticut Bankruptcy Court

A judge ordered the rapper to appear in her courtroom to explain photos of him surrounded with cash as he claims bankruptcy.


Troubled rapper 50 Cent was summoned to a Hartford courtroom Friday to explain to a judge why he has posted several pictures of himself on Instagram surrounded by piles of cash in the midst of his bankruptcy case.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the performer, whose real name is Curtis Jackson III, was ordered to appear before Judge Ann Nevins last Thursday.

Nevins said his Instagram postings are raising questions about the legitimacy of his bankruptcy claim.

One of the pictures depicts the rapper, who owns a mansion in Farmington, with piles of large bills spelling out the word “broke” on a small rug.

Another photo show bundles of cash inside his refrigerator, while a third shows Jackson lying on a bed amid piles of Ben Franklins.
